  • 1 cup frozen peas Add peas near the end of boiling.
  • 2 to 3 pieces ripe avocados Choose ripe but firm avocados.
  • 1/2 cup crumbled bacon Ensure bacon is crisp.
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic Use in controlled amounts for flavor.
  • to taste feta cheese crumbles Add for a salty finish.
  • to taste salt Adjust seasoning after adding feta.

Method
 

Cooking the Orzo
  1. Cook orzo according to package directions until tender but firm.
  2. Add peas during the last few minutes of boiling time.
  3. Drain peas and pasta and return to the pan.
Mixing Ingredients
  1. Slice avocados into cubes and use a spoon to scrape them into the orzo.
  2. Add minced garlic, crumbled bacon, salt, and pepper.
  3. Gently stir until mixed, being careful not to mash the avocado.
  4. Sprinkle each serving with feta cheese.

Notes

Serve in shallow bowls to maintain visibility of avocado and bacon. Adjust seasoning if serving chilled, as flavors can mute when cold.
